I am working on updating things around here... Hopefully in the next couple of days I will have new pictures, updates on life and the visitors we have had over the past couple of months as well as updates on the kids. :)
In my spare time (ha ha!) I also want to rearrange the look of this space... so pardon the mess please :)

Choas in a Chaotic household...
Adjustments Abound!
We are adjusting to the dogs being here. The dogs are adjusting to being here. We've already had a few attempts at escaping out of the yard. Junior is adjusting to them being here and they are adjusting to him as well. Sox has learned that Junior isn't all that bad. Junior has learned how to throw the ball albiet not very far, but throws it none the less for him. I wish that circumstances had been different and we hadn't had to leave the dogs in California for 7 months. I think that time away from each other (the dogs & Jr and the dogs & us in general) made it easy to forget who's really in charge and who the top dog really is. Lets just say that the past week has resulted in the ultimate "come to Jesus meeting" of the minds.
Surgery, Travel and more Surgery
Yesterday, Calvin had surgery on his right knee because he had a possible torn ligament. We went through the same surgery with Sox about 3 years ago. The surgery is called TPLO. (click the link for a better explination then I can give. Lets just go with it's pretty invasive and recovery with out a toddler around is rough... so you can imagine what our life is going to be like for the next 6 weeks.) He is currently resting on the dog bed on the floor of our room and will most likely spend the majority of the next 6 weeks there or in his kennel.
Junior and I are flying home next month for about three weeks! I am looking forward to him having others to entertain him and getting to spend some time with family. When I was pregnant with Junior both our families only got to see me in person very early on. Grammie J and Aunt Claire visited for my shower, and so they got to see me about two months before I had Jr. So this visit will be fun so that everyone will actually get to experiance part of this pregnancy. Plus it will be the last time I'll really get to travel till after little Miss Princess arrives.
When we get back in April, Junior will be having tubes put in his ears. So yes, there is no lack of surgeries going on here in our chaotic little household. Luckily tubes are not really a big surgery. His will be done a little bit differently then normal - instead of just using gas to put knock him out our ENT wants to intubate him so that they will be able to go through his nose and get a really good look at his adnoids. (the suspected cause of his loud mouth breathing, snoring and "snorting"). This should also eliminate the ear infections we have been battling. (4 or more times on antibiotics a year for the same thing [ear infections] is a bad thing, according to the Dr). IF he still has his "uncharacteristic" symptoms but his ears aren't infected then they will be able to elimenate his ears and figure out what's really going on.
So, that in a nutshell is what is new around here.

Hodge Podge of Thoughts
So it's a new year. I'm only half way into the first month of it and still have our Christmas banner up at the top. Hmm. Perhaps I should work on a new one? Now there's a thought!
New to Junior
Junior's vocabulary in the past few weeks seems to be growing. However I can't always seem to make out what exactly he's saying. There are new words in there somewhere, I guess I'll just have to wait for him to figure them out a little better.
Also new in our son's little life is the fact that we decided to take the crib rail off and put the toddler rail up. Essentially converting his crib to a toddler bed. Really this is for multiple reasons. If we end up buying a new crib for"the Monster" his baby sister, I want him to see there is a difference between her's and his. His is for "big boys" and hers is for babies. If we don't buy a new crib, our hopes are that by transitioning him to a toddler bed now, we maybe able (by the time she is ready to use the crib) transition him to a "bigger boy bed". Lets just say the first night was a horrible disaster learning experiance. Yesterday he didn't nap in it because we went to a playdate and had a very hectic day out and about. Today, naptime is well, um non-existant agian a learning curve. So far out of the hour and a half he's been in his room, I'm pretty sure it has been destroyed, with toys everywhere and a little boy doing everything except what he should be doing, sleeping! I'm not ready for nap time to go away completely yet. heavy sigh.
New to Me
Yesterday we had our first playdate here. We went to a command sponsored "playdate/ladies social". Junior behaved much better then I thought he would have, and sharing is definitely on our list of things to work on! We both had a great time getting to know other moms & kids, and was even happier to learn that most lived relatively close to us!
New to Chris
Chris is official at his new command. Having completed the "in-doc" course, he now gets to work on becoming certified to teach! He seems pretty excited to begin on this new adventure!
New for the Baby
Tomorrow is my official "20 week" Ultrasound. Hopefully I will have some pictures to post from it :) I'm trying to decide if I should attempt to upload the video of our ultrasound we had on Chris' birthday. Lets see if I get any feedback (yes/no) and we'll go from there!

"The End of the World As We Know It" - our Life at the present
Ah, an absence from the blogosphere. My apologies to the ones who come for the pictures of my lens loving monster of a son ;). (I love his pictures too) However life in the Chaotic household has been one of upheaval since last friday.
While I spent the day running errands feeling "off" (which I chalked up to pms - with out getting tmi) I suddenly crashed after Chris got home to feeling awful. By Saturday night I had a fever, chills, the sweats you name it. Sunday during the day I was feeling better somewhat, despite the cough from HELL. By monday, I had a migraine that rivaled the cough from hell. So to the Dr. we went. We saw the same Doctor that said my cough a week earlier, "It's just viral, annoying but it will go away eventually but nothing to be worried about". Yeah not so much anymore. I had blood work and 2 chest xrays. "Bacterial pnemonia looks a certain way - yours doesn't look exactly like it, so I think it's viral still, but it's a really soft call, so we are going to treat it as bacterial just in case."
So there you have it. I'm coughing up a lung here (with only an antibiotic - that if I'm not feeling any better by Friday to go back to the doctor - ) with pnumonia. Who knows how or why I caught it. Here it is wednsday and I don't have the fever, but am winded pretty easily still. Jr is taking full advantage of this, and I'm VERY thankful Chris has been able to get off early!

Updates: Junior, Moving and just General Life!
So here we are, back in Corpus Christi. My son is taking his FIRST morning nap since being in our apartment!!! Bonus!!! So here I am blogging instead of unpacking any of the remaining boxes or going through the numerous things that need to be sorted, figured out and dealt with!
We left California on the 28th of July. We stopped and hung out for a little while at my Aunt's house and hung out with my cousins. One who was in charge of keeping the dogs from eating Jr, the other was wrapped up in his video game. (he did get Chris to play with him for a bit) Then we were off for dinner with our friends Julie, Cooper and Julie's mom, Janet. (Thanks agian Janet for dinner!!!) (pics to follow in a photoblog) Then we stopped by my Papa's house on our way out of California. Junior showed off his ability to walk and get into EVERYTHING! He also let Papa Chas know when something was out of place from our previous visit (Papa tried to put his excersize ball in the bedroom - Jr did NOT agree, he felt that it should stay in the living room for Jr to run it into everyone!) Jr got a bath one more time in Papa Chas' kitchen sink and ready for bed before we continued on to San Diego for the night - so as to avoid the traffic in the morning.
On the 29th we stopped at Ft. Huachaca or as I like to call it (because I can hardly spell it let alone SAY it) Ft. Wannahawkaloogey. (Hmm too many viewings of Finding Nemo maybe???) :) No offense is intended towards the Army there either ;). Stopping there allowed Jr and I to meet face to face for the first time (and Chris for the first time ever) with Diana and Elijah. Diana is among a group of my friends who where were all pregnant at the same time and due to deliver our little guys about the same time. (Diana is also friends with Julie, and is the Chief cook and bottle washer over at iCare !) Pictures will follow in a photo blog later on ;).
On the 30th we made it to Sonora, Tx. We stopped earlier in the day, in hopes that by getting Jr (and us) to bed at a more reasonable hour it might help get all of us adjusted to the time zone change a little easier once we arrived here. (So far Chris and I seem adjusted...Jr is a little slower to catch up). We took Jr in the pool in effort to expend some energy. We where unsure how this would go over since he HATES cold water. Thanks to the Texas heat - the pool was refreshing but not really cold. He had a blast splashing and "pushing" Dad around the pool.
We arrived in Corpus Christi on the 31st and began the process of moving into our apartment. Jr seems to be adjusting just fine. I think when he eats is when he misses the dogs the most (they are still in California with my mother in law) because they aren't there to "feed". We have made a trip to Cole park which Jr seemed to enjoy but there where too many kids to really enjoy the park :-/ so I think I'll be exploring other options for him. We have also been to the pool here at the complex, and agian he seemed to have fun - he was attempting to push off of me towards his dad... so I think swimming lessons are in his future!!! (yay a fish!! - just like his Momma AND his Daddy!)
Other then that, Chris is back to work. No word on when we are headed to FL yet. Hopefully we will hear something soon. It is very odd to live in an apartment and know that it is temporary and not make the attempts that one normally would to make it "home" - you know like hanging pictures etc. (heck half our house is still in the storage unit!) - One exciting development. Our dryer went out last night. We have had our set for 11years and have tossed the idea around of replacing them for a while... last night it came to fruition. :(. There are pictures of Jr "helping" Dad diagnosis the problem with the dryer and "helping" to install the new appliances ;).
Off to download pictures so that I can post them... you all deserve something to feast your eyes on other then this book I've just updated!)

Daddy's Coming Home!!
Chris arrives in a few long short hours!! Junior is currently on the longest nap EVER in preperation to see his Daddy tonight!
Due to the fact that we don't know if Daddy has access to the internet or not on his layover - I can not detail our plans for tonight! ;) Shhh... it's a surprise! So with that... on Sunday we will hopefully have two posts... Daddy's Homecoming and the Milestone Saturday Party Lowdown! Ahh it's going to be a busy weekend.. but oh so worth it! Hope Daddy's jet lag doesn't really hit till Sunday :D

Ahhh Life as we know it....
Things are around here are status quo with out status quo. Now if that makes sense to anyone I will be amazed!
Junior is doing well. Since Mother's Day, oh wait it's been almost a month! Man that's a long time for me to go with out blogging! Lets see what all has my son learned to do in the past month?
Junior is doing well. Since Mother's Day, oh wait it's been almost a month! Man that's a long time for me to go with out blogging! Lets see what all has my son learned to do in the past month?
- Pushes his walk behind toys with no difficulty what so ever.
- Self feeds large chunks of food and actually chews it (most of the time)
- Drinks from a sippy cup with a straw very well (mom's soda through a straw tends to come back out as quickly as he sucks it up - and he prefers juice of any kind to water or tea)
- Gets closer and closer everytime to saying "Leslie" (it comes out lellee)
- Has figured outhow to drive his cars and anything with wheels around the floor.
- He also has seen ducks and Geese on a trip to the park by Nona's house. (I think we need to do this agian..btw, when I actually have my camera.
And yesterday he said "Ma Ma" for the first time. Before it was kinda "mmmmmm" but I actually heard (or thought I heard) Ma Ma. We'll see though. He spent the night last night with Nana and most of the day today. lets hope I didn't imagine something.
Another big milestone: We mailed off the final care package to Daddy today!!! We have a little over a month till he is back in the states and a little over a month and a half till he is back here in northern California with all of his family!
Speaking of Daddy coming home, we still have not had any real word on when we are moving. Basically we have been told to keep waiting, and they hope (they being the military) to be able to tell us by November when we are moving. So as things go in this life, we have a game plan. Well as much as we can. In August when Daddy goes back to Tx to go back to work, Jr and I will be flying back with him. We are going to get an apartment short term and once we are able to figure out the move to FL, Grammie Jane and possibly Nona will drive my car out with our two furry children.
I thought this post would be longer! LOL either way... that's what's new in our neck of the woods. I hope to put up pictures from the rest of Mother's Day and some pictures I have taken since.

Just some pictures of what has been transpiring here lately around the Ranch. I haven't been the best about blogging - and quite honestly I just haven't had the time between a certain turkey and school and helping out around here...

Guess What?! WE ARE HOME!!!
Junior and I finally made it home last night! (well with Daddy too). The boys (Sox & Calvin) where happy that ANYbody came home, but I think they were really happy to see me. We got home around 9pm last night, with finally getting a wet diaper from the circumcision at about 630pm. And after some confusion on the part of our NICU nurse, and one last visit from Dr G to check the circumcision, we got to go home about 830ish.
