Ahh. The joys of moving. We are finally getting settled.
We arrived in Florida on Thursday. Junior has acclimated to the new house
just fine. I even managed to survive our first injury in the new house.
While the guys (thank you to all of them that showed up to help - four total) where unloading the truck, Junior decided to run/push his Lighting McQueen ride on toy up the ramp. Worried he would fall off it, I tried to get to him quickly and managed to step on a toy that he had left in the driveway. Lets just say I didn't notice how badly my foot hurt after hitting the "deck" till I went to take a step after getting up. Jr was rescued (much to his dismay) and safely back on the ground. His mom on the other hand, had a seriously sore foot and a road rashed knee to show for it. (Xrays taken the next morning showed no breakage which is good... Four days later, I have a slowly growing range of motion but am still unable to push with my foot. Hopefully it will continue healing quickly!)
The drive from Texas to Florida was uneventful. I think total, Junior maybe rode in the truck with me twice. We put his older carseat in the moving truck so he could ride with dad. He LOVED IT! Especially when we stopped to fuel up and he would wave and blow kisses to me from the truck.
Junior seems to go from one end of the house to the other in a matter of seconds. We also have a "Florida" room (enclosed patio) and he loves to take his ride on toys in and out of the house into it. I have a feeling we maybe going to be going back to two naps a day instead of one because he seems to be getting so tired by the end of the day.
As soon as the unpacking is finished I will post pictures. I also have some pictures of Junior "helping" with his own special brand of "help". He helped Chris yesterday with some minor home improvement things that needed to be done.

And the Beat Goes On
Don't ask where the title of this blog post came from - I have no idea. Honestly. It's just one of those mornings.
We got up early to take Chris in for his flight physical, and I needed to make sure I had the truck later this morning as Junior has an appointment with the allergist to re-evaluate his medications (he doesn't seem to be responding to them very well anymore).
Things around here are going fairly well. We are packing for the move and attempting to sort through things in the apartment. This afternoon I think we are going to do a big sort through Juniors toys and take the "baby" toys out that he doesn't play with anymore and set them aside.
Oh yes. I have yet to mention it here... We are expecting another little monster! Our due date is June 4Th 2010. Before anyone asks, we will most likely be finding out the sex of this one too but it will be a while before that happens. At least another eight to nine weeks.
The great exodus from Corpus will take place next Wednesday. We should be in Pensacola on Thursday. Junior still doesn't quite seem to understand what the boxes are for (other then for him to play with) but seems quite happy that we have taken the baby gate to the kitchen down and he has access to it now. What's Going On
I know, I know. It's been quite a long time since I update this. In my defense... I have felt like poo and we have been busy busy busy!
Lets start with the fun stuff... the Junior Updates!
Almost two weeks ago he had his 15month check up. Boy where does the time go?! He is still in the top 90% overall, 96% for both height and weight and his head circ was 91%. Since then he seems to be developing a larger vocabulary, in the past couple days saying "Mama" much more (which makes me happy :) ) as well as "all done", "bath" (on occasion but he signs it regularly through out the day). After visiting our wonderful friends, the Laz family (more to come on this) he has been walking around saying "uke" (aka Duke - their beloved male golden retriever). The way he pronounces Duke is actually pretty comical because he has not seemed to have a problem pronouncing the D sound. Tonight we had chinese for dinner and he got to sit in an actual booster seat! This after doing wonderful on our trip sitting at the table of family on a phone book or a box. Overall he's a very happy kid who is learning things left and right and never ceases to amaze his father and I.
Chris finally recieved his orders last week. We are finally go for our move to FL! We will be leaving Corpus on Nov 11th. Both Chris and I are extreamly excited and can't wait to get this move over with! WeChris decided to move ourselves this time as opposed to having the Navy move us. The theory being that half our junk stuff is still in boxes in storage anyway, it shouldn't be that hard (can anyone hear my insane laughter???)
The Friday before last we left to go house hunting in Pensacola. It was a whirlwind of a trip and we managed to get a house all set up. This will be the first time we will be living off base the entire time we are there. After getting the house taken care of we took off to visit Aunt Claire, Uncle Bill, Cousins Will, Connie and little William in Louisiana. We had a wonderful time meeting up with them and it was all the first time our "southern" cousins got to meet Junior. William and Junior got along famously after both of them learning to "share". ;)
After visiting all our Louisiana family we ventured to points northward in Little Rock. Auntie Kim (as she choose to be called) and "Uncky John" (as Auntie Kim called him to Junior) have been long time family friends. (At one point both Chris and I worked for them, you could say they helped us grow up ;) ) We had a lovely visit with them, and it was also the first time they got to meet Junior as well. Junior loved on all three of John and Kim's four legged children, developing a very good relationship with Duke. (Pictures to follow in the next post) Junior also got to play the piano for the first time as well. That was pretty entertaining. Junior also attempted to "feed" our camera to Duke... there are no pictures of this however.
Overall, a week in the car went much better then we expected and Junior traveled quite well. Despite the total and complete upheaval of having no schedule (so to speak) and being in a different place every couple of nights. Chris and I didn't do too bad about freaking out over little things. Junior's first real road trip vacation (of sorts) went over well!

Updates: Junior, Moving and just General Life!
So here we are, back in Corpus Christi. My son is taking his FIRST morning nap since being in our apartment!!! Bonus!!! So here I am blogging instead of unpacking any of the remaining boxes or going through the numerous things that need to be sorted, figured out and dealt with!
We left California on the 28th of July. We stopped and hung out for a little while at my Aunt's house and hung out with my cousins. One who was in charge of keeping the dogs from eating Jr, the other was wrapped up in his video game. (he did get Chris to play with him for a bit) Then we were off for dinner with our friends Julie, Cooper and Julie's mom, Janet. (Thanks agian Janet for dinner!!!) (pics to follow in a photoblog) Then we stopped by my Papa's house on our way out of California. Junior showed off his ability to walk and get into EVERYTHING! He also let Papa Chas know when something was out of place from our previous visit (Papa tried to put his excersize ball in the bedroom - Jr did NOT agree, he felt that it should stay in the living room for Jr to run it into everyone!) Jr got a bath one more time in Papa Chas' kitchen sink and ready for bed before we continued on to San Diego for the night - so as to avoid the traffic in the morning.
On the 29th we stopped at Ft. Huachaca or as I like to call it (because I can hardly spell it let alone SAY it) Ft. Wannahawkaloogey. (Hmm too many viewings of Finding Nemo maybe???) :) No offense is intended towards the Army there either ;). Stopping there allowed Jr and I to meet face to face for the first time (and Chris for the first time ever) with Diana and Elijah. Diana is among a group of my friends who where were all pregnant at the same time and due to deliver our little guys about the same time. (Diana is also friends with Julie, and is the Chief cook and bottle washer over at iCare !) Pictures will follow in a photo blog later on ;).
On the 30th we made it to Sonora, Tx. We stopped earlier in the day, in hopes that by getting Jr (and us) to bed at a more reasonable hour it might help get all of us adjusted to the time zone change a little easier once we arrived here. (So far Chris and I seem adjusted...Jr is a little slower to catch up). We took Jr in the pool in effort to expend some energy. We where unsure how this would go over since he HATES cold water. Thanks to the Texas heat - the pool was refreshing but not really cold. He had a blast splashing and "pushing" Dad around the pool.
We arrived in Corpus Christi on the 31st and began the process of moving into our apartment. Jr seems to be adjusting just fine. I think when he eats is when he misses the dogs the most (they are still in California with my mother in law) because they aren't there to "feed". We have made a trip to Cole park which Jr seemed to enjoy but there where too many kids to really enjoy the park :-/ so I think I'll be exploring other options for him. We have also been to the pool here at the complex, and agian he seemed to have fun - he was attempting to push off of me towards his dad... so I think swimming lessons are in his future!!! (yay a fish!! - just like his Momma AND his Daddy!)
Other then that, Chris is back to work. No word on when we are headed to FL yet. Hopefully we will hear something soon. It is very odd to live in an apartment and know that it is temporary and not make the attempts that one normally would to make it "home" - you know like hanging pictures etc. (heck half our house is still in the storage unit!) - One exciting development. Our dryer went out last night. We have had our set for 11years and have tossed the idea around of replacing them for a while... last night it came to fruition. :(. There are pictures of Jr "helping" Dad diagnosis the problem with the dryer and "helping" to install the new appliances ;).
Off to download pictures so that I can post them... you all deserve something to feast your eyes on other then this book I've just updated!)

Your off and Away!
The video blog I finished should be up soon. I was gone all day today so I didn't get a chance to put it up and now I'm just too darn tired.
I started to type this post because I just read a blog on a friend's myspace blog that got me thinking. They are in the military also, however Chris and I have known them (well him anyway) since High School. The three of us went to the same school, Chris and our friend where in the same class. They are (or should be if I remember right) getting ready to go to their next duty station overseas and my friend was looking back at all of the memories from his first duty station.
As I told him, life (and home) isn't just where the military sends you, it's all the places you've been too. Dr. Seuss couldn't have put it any better...
"You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.

Those strange birds you'll get mixed up with - they will cross your path agian at some point, you just have to make sure they don't come in for a crash landing ;).

A Little Bit of Everything
Packing Status
Is almost done!
There is just a few more things in the house to get into storage and then the REAL fun begins... the cleaning! (Oh Joy and Rapture as my Mother in Law would say)
Whats Going To Happen
Our internet will be turned off as of Wednsday, December 10th. Odds are I might be able to update from or gracious accomadations at Jess' house prior to my arrival at the Ranch. Other then that, I leave for the Ranch on Saturday and Chris will arrive with the boys in tow (as well as my Papa) by Monday or Tuesday. I will be updating my twitter page (see side panel) via my cell phone which should update here too :)
Jr Update
I had to take Jr to see Dr G today. He woke up earlier then normal last night and had a hard time nursing and breathing at the same time he was so congested. This morning he wasn't any better so I called to get him in. Dr G said that his ears looked great (which is an awesome thing considering we are flying on Saturday) but that obviously using the syringe to clean out his nose wasn't keeping up (he was gagging every time I tried to use it) so she ordered a decongestant for him and it seems to be working so far. Atleast the dreaded side effect of making him crabbier did not happen. It seemed to keep him on an even keel as far as the crabbiness goes. I'm not expecting him to sleep through the night as congested as he is, but atleast the sleep he will get should be more restful then with out the decongestant. Also - a side benefit to going in today:
Jr's Weight:17lbs 10oz (almost a pound short of doubling his birth weight!)
Height: 26" (approx... he wasn't exactly cooperative while I was trying to measure him on the table!)

AHHH
Things Are Right In My Little World
Well Jess & Co are back in town! And even better it is like a three minute walk from my house to hers! (We live on the same street, yeah!!)
We spent all day yesterday driving back and forth between her storage shed and the house moving her furniture in. Well her mom, Jess' Aunt Robin and Jess did all the moving. I just drove Jess' car back and forth (I have an ID - mom & aunt don't and it was less hassel for me to drive then them) and while at the storage unit and somewhat at the house too kept the boys out of the way (or in the case of Colten - happy). When we stopped for the night last night, there was maybe three loads left.
Today I had to go to school, but with most of the furniture out of storage, Jess and her mom where able to move most of the remaining stuff in the truck. (Aunt Robin flew back to FL yesterday after a much too short visit.) I met them at the storage unit after class to help load up the small stuff, also known as the last of Trace's toys - all stuff that I could actually help pick up!!! So things are right in the world agian: my partner in crime is back, her fridge is stocked and now it's just up to letting her anally retentive self figure out where she wants to put things ;) Na she's really not that bad. hee hee. But the best thing of all, is just having her to hang out with!
