Well there are a few reasons. The biggest two being pregnancy and trying to keep up with a toddler. Both wear ya out QUICK!
Junior Update:
Junior is well Junior. He has an entire post coming up about him following this one and his latest antics. Lets just say - he is 110% boy, who loves his food, to play outside, and help his daddy in the garage and no matter what the messier he can get the better!
Baby Scarlett Update:
Her cesarean section is scheduled for May 27th. Nona arrives the day before to hang out with Jr while Daddy and I are at the hospital with Miss Scarlett. I had an ultrasound yesterday, and her weight is estimated to be approximately 7 pounds 2 ounces. The cool thing about the ultrasound was that I actually got to see her "breathe". It is a very interesting experiance to see your baby "breathe" when you know that they aren't breathing air. The other bonus to that experiance is the Dr (who was doing the actual ultrasound) said that is something you WANT to see at this stage in the game and it also means that their lungs are mature. :) Which also means if I were to spontaneously go into labor (ha ha fat chance there) and they went ahead and did the c-section she shouldn't have any lung complications!
Mommy & Daddy Update:
Mommy is tired of being pregnant. Enough said.
Daddy is doing well with work - while being overwhelmed! Last week he had to deal with 3 DIFFERENT classes simultanously! He was NOT a happy camper when he got home. Other than that he's enjoying riding his dirtbike as often and as much as he can because our weekends are soon to be limited in being able to get out to the track for a few weeks!

Another Update Post!
Okay, so blogging has NOT been my forte lately. Admittedly, it's been laziness on my part and partially I'm just plain tired! Chasing a toddler (he's 20 months now!!! Where oh where did the time go?!) and growing another little one really takes it out of ya!
Junior and I just got back this week from a long visit to CA. We had a blast! It was nice to have some extra help entertaining Junior for a few weeks! While we were out in CA, we were able to visit my Papa (Papa Chas) and my Aunt Shannon. Junior flirted and impressed as always. We were also fortunate enough to get to have lunch with Julie Olsen. Unfortunately due to Jr still being on the tail end of a tummy bug we didn't get to see Cooper (they where headed on a road trip of their own and didn't want to chance him getting sick).
While home, we were able to celebrate not only my birthday but also celebrate Baby Scarlett as well. It was nice to have a shower that all of our family could be included in. It was also great to see so many family and friends that I haven't seen in so long. I will be posting photos from our trip to CA over the next couple days.
Now - on to some excitement: enter your guess in when Baby Scarlett will arrive!
I saw the OB this morning and the date for my c-section was set! Do you think she will make it to her expected arrival date of May 28? Where does the time go? Surgery, catching up!
Okay so it's been almost a month since I posted. It's been busy around here, what can I say?
Junior had his tubes put in yesterday. He did very well! We weren't sure how he was going to do, and parental worry is what it is.
Here are some photos from our morning. We had to be at the hospital at 0545 and Junior couldn't have a sippy cup prior (he did VERY well with this - surprisingly!)
Junior was un-impressed with the gown we were given for him to wear. We were referring to it as his "dress" :)
Junior was given versaid (sp?) prior to being taken downstairs to the OR. The ride down was interesting (one of us had to "ride" with him on the bed since he had medication) because he was kind of cranky. All of a sudden he just seemed a little loopy. You can tell he isn't quite "himself" in this picture. We were waiting to go into the OR. The nurse was GREAT and he didn't cry going into the OR at ALL!
On the way home, Chris took this picture. As you can see... he was already in a playful mood. He was playing hide & seek with Daddy.

He didn't start crying till he heard me talk to the Nurse in the PACU. The male nurses in there where great too. Jr refused to wear the pulse ox they had taped to his toe. He attempted (and succeeded) at pulling it off a few times.
This picture is when we got back upstairs. Jr wanted to sit with Daddy and watch cartoons. After about an hour of steady vital signs we got to go home.
On the way home, Chris took this picture. As you can see... he was already in a playful mood. He was playing hide & seek with Daddy.
Daddy made all of us french toast, and as you can see Jr enjoyed his (along with his friday morning episode of Seasame Street - yes we were home in time for Seasame Street!).
Post nap, he enjoyed an afternoon of playing in the garage with Daddy and even made a trip to the bike shop and to the auto parts store. By bed time, he was wrestling with dad and being a typical boy!

If Last Night Is Any Indication:
Today is going to be a very long day. Yesterday evening Jr had a meltdown of gigantic proportions for no discernable reason. I'm talking full blown screaming and crying to the point that we thought he was going to make himself sick. He didn't want to eat dinner (not unusual lately) and wanted nothing to do with anyone really. We had gone to the Dr earlier in the day to have his ears rechecked (more on that in a minute) but didn't seem to have any other issues going on. Normally when he gets upset in the evening a bath will usually calm him down. He wouldn't take a bath. However Daddy was nice enough to get in the tub and shower with him, and that was deemed acceptable. In true uncharacteristic fashion, Junior was in bed by 730 - a full hour before his normal bed time.
He woke up at about 330, Daddy changed his diaper and he got in bed with us. It took almost an hour to get him settled and just about back to sleep. Courtesy of being in Florida we just happened to have a thunderstorm settle over us and let go with a rather loud clap of thunder. It took another hour or so for him to settle back down. (normally he has slept through thunderstorms, atleast they have never woken him up) By the time he fell back asleep, he knew what the loud noises where and even attempted to say "thunder". I'm pretty sure we fell asleep about 5am and Daddy had to get up for work at 6. So its going to be a loooooooooong day today!
Dr follow up
As I mentioned earlier, we had a follow up on Jr's ears yesterday. One of his ears was still filled with wax and the Dr was unable to really look at the other one (even with Daddy holding him down!) so we are getting referred to ENT to have his ear cleaned out, and have a consult on tubes. We should be getting a call in the next couple days to make that appointment, and since the odds are they will need to sedate him, I am considering doing it while Grammie and Papa are here next week since Dad won't be able to get off work to go with us. Never hurts to have moral support right?!
On the Road agian
Tomorrow we are leaving in the morning to go visit Great Aunt Claire and Uncle Bill. It was supposed to be a surprise, but the beans have already been spilled! We are looking forward to getting to see family agian so soon after Christmas! Thank You Great Aunt Claire for having the courtesy to turn 60 and to give us a reason (not that we need one) to P. A. R. T. Y!
We are also meeting up with Grammie and Papa there who are traveling in my car back from CA with our two four-legged furbabies to bring all of the above here! It will be so nice to have not only our doggies back but mommy's car as well! And visits from family are always appreciated!

Big Chris' Birthday :)
Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. He's officially "middle-age" (so to speak). He is a whopping 31 years young.
He started the day out with joining his own mother at the gym for a "Boot Camp" class. (Mr. Joe the instructor is puuuuurfect for this style of class. As Chris put it - "He is VERY motivating!") Today Chris is complaining about being able to walk among various other things.
Afterwards, his mom and I went to attempt to finish up our Christmas shopping while working on meeting up with my mom to retrieve Junior. (Whom had spent the night with Nona on Tuesday night.) While Grandma J and I finished up some shopping, Chris got the honor of feeding cows with his dad, then head to his Aunt Marge's house to replace a kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal prior to her hosting Chris' party later in the evening.
Around 2pm Chris, my mom, Junior, Grandma J and I met up at a non-descript building. Inside, I surprised my mom and Jane with their Christmas present. :) An ultrasound so that they can see the new baby! And what a better birthday present for Chris, to hopefully find out what his new baby is going to be. But then agian - I think like a girl :) you know sentimental and all.
Grandma J and Nona were very excited to see the baby, and got to hear the heartbeat. Grandma J had only heard Junior's heartbeat once. The cool thing was they not only got to hear it but see it. Yesterday the baby's heartbeat was 148. As we watched the baby who was moving very little, it was cool to get to see a profile picture of her. Because of the way she was laying we couldn't see her face clearly (she was laying right under the placenta). If you haven't caught on yet - it's a GIRL! :) We are all very excited and shocked. I will scan the pictures from the ultrasound later today if I get a chance and post them.

Leaving.....On A Jet Plane
Okay... I'm not sure it's a "jet" but it's definitely a plane! We leave tomorrow for chilly northern California! While I'm not wild about the hour of our wake up (3ish am), I am however excited about the fact that we will arrive mid-day! It will give us the afternoon to get acclimated (everything unpacked, and we can relax etc).
This week is going to be packed with surprises, parties and family gatherings abound. And I can't wait for all of it! Usually this time of year brings a little bit of dread but this year it's all looking fun! I think alot of it has to do with the fact that this year Junior will have a better grasp of what is going on (and will be a whole lot less likely to eat the wrapping paper on his presents) and he's much more mobile then last year (walking as opposed to barely sitting on his own) which provides it's own entertainment alone. Wow. I just realized just how much our little Monkey Man has changed. This year has definitely flown by!
Stay tuned... as things will most undoubtedly be posted throughout our stay in California ;)

Christmas Cookies - Part 2
Today we frosted a few of the cookies we baked yesterday. This was Junior's first experiance with homemade frosting. It was safe to say, he liked it. When he first got a taste of it, we watched his face go from one of being perplexed by this new taste to one of "ooo that's gooood".

Monster Baby Update
First off I would just like to say, it is totally and completely frustrating to type out a nice long post and then have it disappear when adding pictures.
If you are friends with me on Facebook, you have undoubtedly seen/read my status messages about the INSANE nausea that this little "Monster" has been giving me. (Junior was a Monkey when he started moving, right now... this one is just Monster!) After a stint in the ER and a repeat of the day leading up to the ER stint, I finally got in to see a doctor in the Family Practice clinic at the Naval Hosptial here.
I was surprised that despite the fact that when your going through infertillity and you concieve, you can pin-point conception but they wanted to do an ultrasound to "date" the pregnancy. Hmm lets see, a chance to "see" the baby. Mmm yep, I'll take it! Who am I to argue?! LOL.
Monster was very uncooperative (no shocker there). He/She refused to move so that we could get an accurate measurement. The measurement they did get was with in 7 days of where I should be, so the doctor took it. Being so still allowed the doctor to get a good heartbeat measurement (149bpm) and as soon as she was done with that, Monster started flipping all over. All while avoiding being able to measured accurately! It was nice to be able to see the little Monster and know that despite the lack of mom's ability to keep much of anything down some days (or stomach things the other days) that He/She is still growing and forming the way it should!

Moving... Moving.... MOVED!
Ahh. The joys of moving. We are finally getting settled.
We arrived in Florida on Thursday. Junior has acclimated to the new house
just fine. I even managed to survive our first injury in the new house.
While the guys (thank you to all of them that showed up to help - four total) where unloading the truck, Junior decided to run/push his Lighting McQueen ride on toy up the ramp. Worried he would fall off it, I tried to get to him quickly and managed to step on a toy that he had left in the driveway. Lets just say I didn't notice how badly my foot hurt after hitting the "deck" till I went to take a step after getting up. Jr was rescued (much to his dismay) and safely back on the ground. His mom on the other hand, had a seriously sore foot and a road rashed knee to show for it. (Xrays taken the next morning showed no breakage which is good... Four days later, I have a slowly growing range of motion but am still unable to push with my foot. Hopefully it will continue healing quickly!)
The drive from Texas to Florida was uneventful. I think total, Junior maybe rode in the truck with me twice. We put his older carseat in the moving truck so he could ride with dad. He LOVED IT! Especially when we stopped to fuel up and he would wave and blow kisses to me from the truck.
Junior seems to go from one end of the house to the other in a matter of seconds. We also have a "Florida" room (enclosed patio) and he loves to take his ride on toys in and out of the house into it. I have a feeling we maybe going to be going back to two naps a day instead of one because he seems to be getting so tired by the end of the day.
As soon as the unpacking is finished I will post pictures. I also have some pictures of Junior "helping" with his own special brand of "help". He helped Chris yesterday with some minor home improvement things that needed to be done.

What's Going On
I know, I know. It's been quite a long time since I update this. In my defense... I have felt like poo and we have been busy busy busy!
Lets start with the fun stuff... the Junior Updates!
Almost two weeks ago he had his 15month check up. Boy where does the time go?! He is still in the top 90% overall, 96% for both height and weight and his head circ was 91%. Since then he seems to be developing a larger vocabulary, in the past couple days saying "Mama" much more (which makes me happy :) ) as well as "all done", "bath" (on occasion but he signs it regularly through out the day). After visiting our wonderful friends, the Laz family (more to come on this) he has been walking around saying "uke" (aka Duke - their beloved male golden retriever). The way he pronounces Duke is actually pretty comical because he has not seemed to have a problem pronouncing the D sound. Tonight we had chinese for dinner and he got to sit in an actual booster seat! This after doing wonderful on our trip sitting at the table of family on a phone book or a box. Overall he's a very happy kid who is learning things left and right and never ceases to amaze his father and I.
Chris finally recieved his orders last week. We are finally go for our move to FL! We will be leaving Corpus on Nov 11th. Both Chris and I are extreamly excited and can't wait to get this move over with! WeChris decided to move ourselves this time as opposed to having the Navy move us. The theory being that half our junk stuff is still in boxes in storage anyway, it shouldn't be that hard (can anyone hear my insane laughter???)
The Friday before last we left to go house hunting in Pensacola. It was a whirlwind of a trip and we managed to get a house all set up. This will be the first time we will be living off base the entire time we are there. After getting the house taken care of we took off to visit Aunt Claire, Uncle Bill, Cousins Will, Connie and little William in Louisiana. We had a wonderful time meeting up with them and it was all the first time our "southern" cousins got to meet Junior. William and Junior got along famously after both of them learning to "share". ;)
After visiting all our Louisiana family we ventured to points northward in Little Rock. Auntie Kim (as she choose to be called) and "Uncky John" (as Auntie Kim called him to Junior) have been long time family friends. (At one point both Chris and I worked for them, you could say they helped us grow up ;) ) We had a lovely visit with them, and it was also the first time they got to meet Junior as well. Junior loved on all three of John and Kim's four legged children, developing a very good relationship with Duke. (Pictures to follow in the next post) Junior also got to play the piano for the first time as well. That was pretty entertaining. Junior also attempted to "feed" our camera to Duke... there are no pictures of this however.
Overall, a week in the car went much better then we expected and Junior traveled quite well. Despite the total and complete upheaval of having no schedule (so to speak) and being in a different place every couple of nights. Chris and I didn't do too bad about freaking out over little things. Junior's first real road trip vacation (of sorts) went over well!

(At one point both Chris and I worked for them, you could say they helped us grow up ;) ) We had a lovely visit with them, and it was also the first time they got to meet Junior as well. Junior loved on all three of John and Kim's four legged children, developing a very good relationship with Duke. (Pictures to follow in the next post) Junior also got to play the piano for the first time as well. That was pretty entertaining. Junior also attempted to "feed" our camera to Duke... there are no pictures of this however.
Overall, a week in the car went much better then we expected and Junior traveled quite well. Despite the total and complete upheaval of having no schedule (so to speak) and being in a different place every couple of nights. Chris and I didn't do too bad about freaking out over little things. Junior's first real road trip vacation (of sorts) went over well!

It's all in the little things
So we went by the commissary this morning after dropping Daddy off at work. (We have to go back to the hangar once Fed Ex shows up with my package from Grammie - things we left at the Ranch - you know like my Wii!! to take Daddy the lunch he forgot.) At the commissary, Jr decided the only thing that was going to keep him from grousing the entire time was the bag of coffee I had just ground. Hmm.. Jr sucking/chewing on a bag of fresh ground coffee... not my ideal item to keep him entertained. (it was 1/2 decaf for those wondering..) So what did we do? We substituted it with a can of corn. He held the corn the ENTIRE trip through. Even out to the truck. The entire ride home. Even on the short walk from the truck to the apartment, where he promptly deposited it over the baby gate in the kitchen and then took off to play with his toys. The things that intrest him!
It's amazing how much he has learned since we moved back to Texas. He now signs "done" when we ask him if he's finished eating. He also has said "hello", "bye", "hat" and "cat" (both only once). I've noticed that when Chris and I are both home he tends to use more words then when it's just the two of us.

Ahh My blog :)
Oh how I have neglected thee. Tis no longer going to be a problem! My internet connection is now a speedy one, a more reliable one that will enable me to post pictures (yeah!) Like these...
My son was helping Grammie garden. Did I forget to mention he was being a soil/bark quality control tester?? Via his tastebuds ofcourse!
There is some cousinly love. The boy holding my boy turns 18 (gah! How dare he grow up!) just a mere 4 days after my son turns a year old! My nephew, affectionaly named, "Boog" was out this past weekend helping my father in law bale hay. It was very odd - more then once he reminded me he can be sooo much like his uncle! And he loves his cousin! So much so - he refrained from screaming during the Brazil/US Confederations Cup game to avoid waking Jr up from a much needed (and considerably long) nap. :) In a few years, I have a feeling it will be the awful leading the awful here ;)

Growing Up - Way TOO Fast!
My Little Moose Is 9 months old!
My little man turned 9 months old today! On Monday we had a doctors appointment for Juniors cold so we had a weight check at the same time - he weighed in at 22lbs 14.5oz. Our doctor didn't see the need for a 9month check up (no shots where needed and he didn't have a history of thriving issues thus no need for a check up) so we didn't find out how big his head is or his length.
I can tell by the way his clothes are fitting, or more likely the rate that he is growing out of his clothes that he's grown quite a bit over the past three months. (I'm sure his daddy would agree to that too!) We now wear 18 month shirts (some 12 month still fit, but the majority are 18mos) and 12-18 month pants/shorts. At this point though, I have forgone buying any more 12 month pants or shorts because after about one to two washings they are tight.
I can't believe how quickly he has grown! His crawling skills have gone from the barely getting from point A to point B to the "oh crud, where did he go?!" He has been babbling more and although everything is still "dadda" he had tried to say "dog" I'm pretty sure. And it's not like he doesn't have enough of those around to say it ;). I am not sure when he's going to say "momma" but I know I would like it to be soon :)
A little side note: Moose has his own product named after him!
My mother in law (Grandma J) makes her own homemade soaps and hand crafted lotions. She has been working on developing a line of baby products. And due to the fact that Junior has had an on going case of diaper rash that varies in severity but never seems to ever really go away. Today we finally made him some "booty balm". It is not availible on the website yet, but soon you will see Junior's Booty Balm availible for sale! If you are interested in finding out more... email suds @ janesrusticranchsoap.com (with out the spaces) and reference Booty balm. :)

Ear Infection Update
Jr had a follow up for the ear infection (ala Florida) today. Man my chunko-munko is getting big! They didn't check his height but his weight is up to 21lbs 10.6oz! So I guess lets just call that one as it is: 22lbs! Dr K was very excited to see him (he's more or less a friend of the family at this point, so we get a little more attention according to my mom). His ear is good, and the rash on his face that his Grandma J was worried about is normal and teething related. Jokingly Dr K mentioned that Jr maybe a little ADHD due to the fact he's CONSTANTLY moving and checking things out. While I was a little surprised by that, he said that it's normal and he's just going to be a kid who requires LOTS of stimulation. (Something I already knew - he doesn't do sitting quietly for very long.) Other than that he's doing good and Dr. K thinks he'll be walking in the next month or so.
The walking assumption was because he proved to Dr. K in the office that he (Jr) has no real intrest in A) staying in one spot and B) he pulled himself into a standing postion more then once in front of the Dr. Jr will also do the normal baby steps if you hold his hands, although unlike some babies at this age it's not because your leaning him forward. ;)
I also asked about if I should consult with a OB/GYN before trying for #2. Yes you read that right - it is seriously being considered. IF we were to concieve during Chris' time at home in July, Jr and Baby#2 would be approx 19 mos apart. So we'll see. Chris is all for it - I'm still on the fence but am willing to see what another Dr thinks about the situation. I do know that after #2 that's it. I'm done! LOL, famous last words I know!

Decisions Decisions
Ever since Junior was born, I have been struggling with what to do. I value my education and want to further it, however at the same time I feel the time spent on homework and classes right now takes away from time I could be spending with my son. I thought I would be able to get past this feeling of guilt (or mommy guilt as I call it) and be able to succeed in the online classes I'm taking. I thought that by this time I would be ahead of the game and be past the guilt. It just ain't happening.
After alot of soul searching and talking to my husband about it, I decided to withdraw from my classes. Well, he atleast heard me when I said this is what I felt I needed to do (for more reasons then I want to go into here). School is still important to me, and is something I plan on going back to. However I am not sure that nursing is what I am going to go back to. Nursing was something I've said forever I was going to do. I never gave myself other options, or atleast never considered them. And something that I have learned and can credit to a certain someone (who will forever hold it over my head that I was listening), is that my priorites have changed atleast for now, and I'm where I am supposed to be. Being a mom.
On a happier note, Chris and I decided that we are going to look into buying a house when we move to Florida. For various assorted reasons we've decided to buy a house rather then live on base. I wasn't too sure about this because we are only supposed to be at this next command for three years and that doesn't seem long enough to purchase a house, but my husband assures me it's an investment opportunity. The other bonus is that I will actually be able to paint! And decorate however I want to - and not worry about the various restrictions that housing puts on us!!! :)

6 1/2 Months old!
So due to the screw up back in Texas with Junior's shots, we just had Junior's six month appointment this week.
His Stats:
Height: 26 10/2inches long
Weight: 19lbs 1.4oz long
Head Circ: 17 in
Dr. K had seen Jr about a month ago - for a rattle in his lungs I heard. I was assured that it was congestion due to teething. At that point Dr. K called Junior a Moose... with out any prompting! This week when we where in the office he was just amazed with him. He says that Junior not only looks like a nine month old - but ACTS like one! He is incredibly socially aware (something Dr. K said is a really good thing especially at this age) and follows everyone around the room not just me. His weight gain is good considering he's been on solids since he was three months old, and Dr. K said if he wants it, and it is not a choking hazard (obviously) to go ahead and let him have it. (so far he's had - outside of baby food- lasagna that went through a blender, a big strip of chicken that he's knawed the heck out of, breadsticks at Olive Garden and Round Table Pizza as well as pizza crust from the latter). Over all we have a perfect baby (ha ha ha!)! He also said that Junior's top two teeth are very close to popping through and any day we should start feeling them poking through. (He already has his 2 bottom teeth - they came in with in a week/ week & a half of each other).
Grandma J has given Junior a new nickname... "Mr. Pissy Pants" (edited for web content lol) and if you had lived with him this week - you would have agreed!
Junior is all caught up on his shots and no reactions thus far! (Thank goodness!) And unfortunately it didn't make him sleep any better! :( Although yesterday (the day after) he took two good long naps in the car while Grandma J and I where running errands, which included a trip to the mall.
OH YES, for you members of Sam's club.... do not give a teething baby a churro from here... lol he fell asleep in his carseat on the way home sucking on it! It was incredibly too cute and unfortunately because I was driving I didn't get a picture of it (and no he was not in danger of choking - as soon as he fell asleep, Grandma J took it away).

Where's the Baby?
We arrived in California with out too much of an issue. Jr did exceptionally well on the plane rides. He's been enjoying his time with family. Yesterday he was handed around by one and all at a family dinner prior to a premier viewing of a movie at my nephew's church. (My nephew was one of the main characters in it, it was the teen view on the Christmas gospel.) Jr took to everyone and had a great time. Uncle JJ's fingers tasted so good that Jr was growling!
Today we went shopping at Wal-Mart to get some stuff for Nona's house (diapers, wipes, ect.) then we went to Nona's work to hang out untill she got off. Nona ofcourse was very happy to see him. So much she just had to stop mid-hair cut and give the Little Man a kiss or two. He was definitely the hit of the shop. Jr also got to spend a few hours with Nona while Mom went to watch cousin Kathy sing with a live band. (totally worth the adult time - Kathy was awsome as was her band!)
Tonight we are at Nona's house because there are "bouncing snow levels" (a direct quote from the metorologist on TV at the moment! - meaning the level keeps bouncing up and down where snow is falling) more then likely there will be a little snow on the ground when we wake up!

Whats Going To Happen
Our internet will be turned off as of Wednsday, December 10th. Odds are I might be able to update from or gracious accomadations at Jess' house prior to my arrival at the Ranch. Other then that, I leave for the Ranch on Saturday and Chris will arrive with the boys in tow (as well as my Papa) by Monday or Tuesday. I will be updating my twitter page (see side panel) via my cell phone which should update here too :)
Jr Update
I had to take Jr to see Dr G today. He woke up earlier then normal last night and had a hard time nursing and breathing at the same time he was so congested. This morning he wasn't any better so I called to get him in. Dr G said that his ears looked great (which is an awesome thing considering we are flying on Saturday) but that obviously using the syringe to clean out his nose wasn't keeping up (he was gagging every time I tried to use it) so she ordered a decongestant for him and it seems to be working so far. Atleast the dreaded side effect of making him crabbier did not happen. It seemed to keep him on an even keel as far as the crabbiness goes. I'm not expecting him to sleep through the night as congested as he is, but atleast the sleep he will get should be more restful then with out the decongestant. Also - a side benefit to going in today:
Jr's Weight:17lbs 10oz (almost a pound short of doubling his birth weight!)
Height: 26" (approx... he wasn't exactly cooperative while I was trying to measure him on the table!)

Firsts...
So Jr's firsts are supposed to be a big thing. Happy things I thought. Unfortunately we have our very first not-so-happy "first". Our first cold! It was bound to happen, and luckily for him he's taking after his dad and not getting it as badly as him momma - which we would like to keep it that way!
He's got some congestion and just general "mommy can tell he doesn't feel good" symptoms, while mom's got the constantly runny nose, sore throat and drainage from both ears (and one is infected according to the Dr. so I am on antibiotics.) I'm a lovely sight let me tell ya! The pediatrician gave me the all clear today to start taking some suedafed, and while I can only take one tablet every 6-8 hours (a downfall to breastfeeding - but hey what can you do?) it has already started helping immensely! Hopefully the benefits will carry over to Jr too!
Jr's 2 month appointment... and Follow up
Well our little "moose" had his two month appointment on Tuesday, and I just realized I never updated...
Height: 24.5" (90% for his age)
Weight: 14.05lbs (91%)
Head Circumfrance: 15.75" (50%)
In the two days since his original appointment - he's gained another 2 oz! I think my son is attempting to be an overachiever in his weight and height but not letting it go to his head ;). The Dr was happy with his overall growth, his reflux is seeming to be under control. We delayed shots due to the congestion he has, today was a possiblity if it had cleared up but alas it was not to be! We go back to recheck on Monday. Personally, I would rather do shots when Daddy is there to help! (Jr will not be the only one upset - and Yes I know I'm supposed to take it like a mom and be tough, but I'm still kinda working on that one when it comes to Jr.)
