Big Chris' Birthday :)

Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. He's officially "middle-age" (so to speak). He is a whopping 31 years young.

He started the day out with joining his own mother at the gym for a "Boot Camp" class. (Mr. Joe the instructor is puuuuurfect for this style of class. As Chris put it - "He is VERY motivating!") Today Chris is complaining about being able to walk among various other things.

Afterwards, his mom and I went to attempt to finish up our Christmas shopping while working on meeting up with my mom to retrieve Junior. (Whom had spent the night with Nona on Tuesday night.) While Grandma J and I finished up some shopping, Chris got the honor of feeding cows with his dad, then head to his Aunt Marge's house to replace a kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal prior to her hosting Chris' party later in the evening.

Around 2pm Chris, my mom, Junior, Grandma J and I met up at a non-descript building. Inside, I surprised my mom and Jane with their Christmas present. :) An ultrasound so that they can see the new baby! And what a better birthday present for Chris, to hopefully find out what his new baby is going to be. But then agian - I think like a girl :) you know sentimental and all.

Grandma J and Nona were very excited to see the baby, and got to hear the heartbeat. Grandma J had only heard Junior's heartbeat once. The cool thing was they not only got to hear it but see it. Yesterday the baby's heartbeat was 148. As we watched the baby who was moving very little, it was cool to get to see a profile picture of her. Because of the way she was laying we couldn't see her face clearly (she was laying right under the placenta). If you haven't caught on yet - it's a GIRL! :) We are all very excited and shocked. I will scan the pictures from the ultrasound later today if I get a chance and post them.

Where oh Where Did a Year go?

This time last year, I was laying in a hospital bed barely able to move my legs after my cesarean section and was hotter then all get out. BUT. I had a brand new baby who was most likely laying in my arms or close by in his bassinet and a worn out wonderful husband who was sacked out on the pull out couch in our room. We became a family a year ago today.

And while our family may be on opposite ends of the continent tonight we are still ever so grateful to have each other in our lives. Chris and I are very grateful for the little boy in our lives and we can't wait to celebrate his life with our friends and family this coming Saturday (as well as his Daddy's homecoming!!!!)
It's amazing how fast this year has gone by!! He has grown by leaps and bounds and started walking just a week ago! (Oh how I wish he had waited for his Daddy to be here for his first steps!) Watching his personality develop has been interesting, and a ride of it's own at times. Who knew such a little person could be such a force in one's life.
Don't grow up too quickly Christopher Junior! We want to savor each and every little moment.

Home and Gone - all in one!

Going Home

Have you ever gone back to your hometown for a visit (or in my case – moved back temporarily) and found that you cannot go anywhere with out running into someone you think you know, or someone who thinks they know you? It seems to be that the past couple have weeks have been non-stop with this. I have run into the consummate female athlete from my graduating class, people who went to school with my brothers, people who knew my husband but not me, and everything in between it seems. It is weird and a little awkward. Some I wasn’t really good friends with in high school, some have been classmate’s parents and we all know that half the time talking to someone else’s parent in high school was awkward enough, this is well, the same if not more so.
I am not saying any of this is a bad thing it is just weird. I have also found that I am still, after being back here almost three and a half months now, that I still wonder who I am going to recognize or who is going to recognize me. On the other side of the weirdness it is nice to see that some people have changed (for the better) and that somewhere not the people you thought they where.

A Day of Outings
Today we were running all day! We met up with Ms. Jenni to see the Easter Bunny with Miss Krista (pictures later this week) and to have lunch with these two wonderful women! (I think Jr has a girlfriend here already in Krista! She was sure giving him some serious smooches when we left Chick-fil-a!) No need to worry about this little guy being afraid of the Easter Bunny, nope not at all! He was fabulous the whole time! We even used his happiness on the Easter Bunny’s lap to try to coax a couple other little girls (Krista included) onto the Bunny’s lap. No dice for the most part (I knew the Easter Bunny – so that made things a little easier for us ;) ) I cannot wait for next year when Daddy will get to go with us.
After the Easter Bunny and lunch with the girls, Jr and I did a little shopping at Marshals, a return to Best Buy then to Wal-Mart and Sam’s. We left the house at 930ish this morning and did not get home until a little after 3pm! It’s now a quarter after ten, the little man is asleep and I have homemade spinach dip in a half-made state (the spinach is cooling off) and have picked up to try and help get things ready for the party tomorrow. Two more days until I am a year off from “middle age”! (That makes me feel and sound sooo old!!!) One more sleeps until my party! If you are “in the know” on how to get to the Ranch and you are in the area party starts around 2pm. If you would like to drop in – drop me a line, text me or an old-fashioned phone call and I will give you directions!

So Much Love To Go Around

Okay so I didn't post this the other day - but here are three birthdays I am wishing happy, healthy, fun filled years to!!!!

Cooper & his Momma Julie - Cooper entered the world at: June 21, 2008, at 5:52 am pacific time. He weighed in at 5 lbs, 7 oz, measuring 18 inches long. (according to Julie's blog-along with the picture of the two of them too - shameless steal yes :) ). From the looks of the pictures, his Daddy Bob is pretty happy too! Here's to you kid, and to your mommy (especially) and daddy who did so much to make sure you had the best chance on the outside that they could!!! (By the Way kid.. you also share your birthday with my niece so it's a pretty good day all the way around ;) )

Colten.... our little one year old (June 25th): I'm going to have to steal the picture from your Grammie of you eating your cake from last night! It's hard to believe you've been amazing us with your cute little smile for a year now! It's also amazing how you can be so darn cute and such a darn trouble maker all at one time! Now I'm just waiting for you to really start talking, (your next word needs to be Cole!!!) because I'm sure you will take the entertainment you provide already to a whole new level!!!!! I love ya little man!

And drum roll please..... after much anticipation, frustration and pain (on his momma's part):

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMETT JOHN! Born this morning at 1230am, four weeks early and NO IMMEDIATE TRIP to the NICU!!! You, my little friend are truely a miracle. From the feet and the rump you were sticking into your momma's ribs to the sudden revolt at coming out to play, you are truely one loved little man! You have two brothers who are going to love you in their own "special" ways, and I for one, can't wait to see how the three of you gang up on your poor mom. ;) Happy Birthday Tiny! And I must say - you look like the fighter you have been :)

Post Birthday Follow up

Jess and I did go for pedi's - here's mine :)
My lovely Pedi - thanks Jess! Gosh my toes really do look like sausages.

Then we went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks - Trace laughed his little head off it was hilarious!

After the movie we picked up my birthday cake (I was too into getting a slice I didn't get a picture of it.... so this is a stock photo from Cold Stone's Website-

MMMMMMMMM Mint Chocolate Chip

We decided to BBQ in the back yard instead of going out to eat, so while Chris BBQ'd - the rest of us hung out and played with the Boys (the dogs)
Ron & the Boys

Chilling in the back yard

This is just a funny series I got of Colten:
Finger in the Ear:
Finger in Ear -
Finger from Ear taste good:
Then the finger goes in the mouth!

And Drumroll please.

This is the ONLY picture I am posting of me first thing yesterday morning. For those whining that they want belly pics.... no way jose!

Me and My birthday present from the Boys

March 30, 2008

Happy Birthday - TO ME!!! :)

Today, I turn the ripe old age of 28. Gosh - I feel old!! lol. (there are some of you who read this - who will ALWAYS be older then me!!! ;) and I will never let you forget it either!!!! Not going to name names.... but you know their initials are: Sarah, Chris ect)

Alright... so anyhow... I woke up about 730 this morning, to find my husband MIA from bed (not unusual mind you). I came downstairs to find this on the table:

My Birthday Presents, The candy boquet is from my mom, the flowers from Chris and the boys

Now Chris took pictures of me opening my present from the boys. I REFUSE to post them. No one in their right mind wants to see me in my pjs, hair medusa like. And I refuse to let anyone see me like that unless your here in the flesh - then your just SOL!

I got a lovely new cellphone from the boys. As they put it, they broke the piggy bank and then some. And their dad has stooped to a new level to hide my present from me!!! Just thought I would throw that in there. My Razr was on the way out. So now I have a lovely Blackjack II - that amazingly I only had to show my husband once! He's getting sooo good at paying attention. :) I just love him!

Here in a little bit, Jess and I are going to go for Mani/Pedi's and have some "girl" time. Chris dutifully has agreed to help Ronnie babysit the boys. (I guess it's a good thing that Trace feels that Chris is his 'personal' big buddy and play toy.) Then we are all going to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks - it's playing at the dollar cinema (yes I'm cheap, but A: when I'm going to have to pee 4-6x during the movie it helps I've already seen it and B: I'd rather go see something I know that Trace would enjoy too - besides I think both Chris and I like the movie just as much as he will) . Afterwards we get to go pick up my icecream cake from Cold Stone Creamery (agian - only mentioned it once to my husband and he ordered it already!!!) and then it's back home to BBQ w/ Jess, Ronnie & family. I'm sure I'll have more pictures to post later. I might even let someone take MY pictures ;).
