October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so that along with a give away that I won a couple days or a week or so ago (Lizze’s Pay it Forward), I decided to combine the giveaway I’m hosting with something very important to me: Breast Cancer Awareness!
As a breast-feeding mom, obviously my breasts are not only important to me, but my child also. Well I think that EVERY woman’s breasts are important! Breast cancer is diagnosed in a woman every three minutes, and the earlier it is caught the soon a treatment plan can begin! While to some, breasts are just esthetically pleasing things to look at, they are quite simply one of the things that makes a woman a woman. And to have something that can define a woman be attacked and even taken away from her can be devastating.
So here is what we are going to do:
Leave me a comment about why breast cancer research is important to you. I know my family has been touched by this, and know many who have been affected by breast cancer in some way. Cancer, of all types, runs in my family and I've lost many loved ones to this dreaded disease, including an aunt, a grandmother, and a boyfriend who died 10 years ago. The only way to put a stop to it is to keep researching new ways to treat and prevent cancer. I hope that cancer can be conquered for good during my lifetime.
PS - I'm ignoring Lizze's "you're tagged" note that she left on my blog too -- Unfortunately, I barely have enough time to READ others' blogs and update my own so I doubt I'll find any extra time to list out a bunch of silly stuff, even though it's something I would have done in the past,pre-Cooper. ;0 Sorry Lizze!
