Take a Hike Ike!

Well we weathered Ike...

If you want to call it that.

The storm came ashore about 215am this morning, and last night when we left our "hurricane party" at Jess & Ronnie's house (including a family of "refugees" from Houston) it was just a windy evening here in S. Texas. We didn't get any winds higher then a normal "wind advisory" day. (BTW those sometimes are as strong as tropical storm force winds...) Needless to say after all the hype, we kind of felt like the kids who where promised a trip to the amusement park and all we got was the park down the street.

Don't get me wrong - I do not wish a hurricane on anyone! I also hope that my friends who where in the Houston area prior to the storm made it through ok. I've heard from one, but we are still waiting on another. (she was due in July along with me... ) Despite not wishing a hurricane on anyone - when you spend the three days ramping up and running solely on adrenaline to expect one thing, and it falls grossly short of what your expecting... it's a huge let down.

I started this post on the 13th... it's been a little hectic around here
