After a little less then 24 hours under his second round (if you count the first as being in the hospital before coming home the first time) of double -lights phototherapy, Jr's bili levels where back into a "safe" zone agian (13.6) and the Attending at the children's hospital was comfortable with sending him back home with instructions of just a diaper in indirect sunlight 3x a day for 30 minutes and to follow up with the clinic here on the base in 48 hours. So that is what we are going to do! :)
The first four hours or so of our hospital stay where a little trying. A sympathetic but gruff nurse who made things a little bit rougher occasionally didn't help, but he was trying. Jr got spoiled in the NICU being allowed to sleep on his stomach - so now you guessed it, he HATES being on his back! Nurse "McGruff" didn't have any solutions to try and help us out, however our night nurse was a GOD SEND! Nurse Alex was the same nurse that discharged us from the hospital we delivered at, and we were VERY happy to see him! Knowing he works in a NICU made us MUCH more comfortable!! We explained to him about JR's dislike of sleeping on his back, and he set our little guy up with a heart monitor, and set up his isolette so that he could sleep on his stomach for a bit. After a couple hours, we started putting him on his side, which he would naturally roll over to his back after getting into a deep sleep. (now he's a side sleeper :) - which is far better then a tummy sleeper) Alex made a trying night that much easier, making sure both mom and son where well taken care of.
We got released this morning about 11am, and on the way home we stopped to pick up a sleep positioner that lets just put it this way: Junior spent the longest hour and a half in his pack & play yet - asleep!!!! :D Hopefully Chris and I will get more sleep tonight!
Here is apicture of our little man with his new sleep-helper :) :

Glad to see you guys are doing good :) Sleep positioners are a godsend! We used one forever!
Congrats on coming home again :). We just bought a similar sleep positioner for Cooper b/c he won't sleep without something "hugging" him - he either has to be on my chest ('between the mountains', as Bob would say), or in his car seat carrier - when we put him in the flat open bassinet or travel bed he gets mad and screams or grunts the whole time, keeping us up....so we got the positioner and it totally helps. I hope it continues helping you guys too!
Those things are great!! Glad you found something that works :) And happy re-homecoming :)
