Dad & Junior
Junior was born at 1254 pm today, July 15th via c-section. I was very worried/nervous about having the c-section. Our friend Jess came and spent a few minutes she could with us before they took me back to the OR. I recieved my spinal, and they had Chris come in and sit with me. Most of the pregnant women I know think that being in labor you lose all modesty - it's more so w/ a c-section! The OR staff was great, and after they got Jr out everyone was putting in their guess as to how big his was.
He weighed 8lbs 15 oz, so the ultrasound was one pound and five ounces off. He was 21 inches long, and scored 8 out of 9 on his Apgar scores. :) Dr G also explained to us that his umbilical cord had a double knot in it - which if we had attempted a vaginal delivery, it would have caused other complications. And everyone in the nursery was very happy that he came via c-section!!!
By the time I was settled into our room, he had his bath and was warmed up and arrived here with in about a half hour. We attempted breast feeding, which the first time, he caught on pretty quickly. He didn't really get fussy at all during that feeding. Since then, (about 230pm) he's had 2 or 3 attempts at feeding agian. They checked his blood sugar after birth, and agian at 4pm and 7pm - both his came back at or around 60.. I refused to hold him either time he got pricked - Chris did it. He also is taking to holding him very well! We are doing pretty good, and have emailed out most of the same pictures we've taken so far. I'm sure their will be alot by the time we go home. I really can't complain he's actually been a wonderful baby! I've had a couple small naps, but I'm doing alot better then I thought I would!!
Jr is currently sleeping, and I am going to try and get another nap in ;)

Christopher is gorgeous and you guys look so happy. We're thrilled for all of you! Keep taking those naps! :)
Congrats again!! You three look so beautiful. Keep a good grip on the naps that you can take, and don't let them bottle feed him!!! And don't let them throw the "low blood sugar" thing at you. Just tell them that you will immediately try to feed him, even if it means waking him up to do it!! NO BOTTLES!!! Unless your open to bottle feeding, that is :)
