Hormones....
Everyday, regardless if it is just sitting in the living room watching television or attempting to study I see a picture of my Nana (grandma) that I love. It is her senior picture from high school that I blew up for her memorial service. At the time, I had put it on a canvas that my Papa had painted and she was going to make into a bag (she was always sewing something). Well when it was time to come home afterward, I brought the picture and the canvas home, and hung them in my home. To me, it is the last thing I have that is both of them together. (My Papa is still very much alive and kicking – screaming sometimes too)
Today just seems to be a hormonal day for me. I guess as I sit here and view that picture it reminds me that she will not get the opportunity to visit her grand child and do all the things she did with me and my brothers and cousins. There is no replacement for getting to help Nana put her makeup on (a privileged task to be sure), or the way she included everyone in cooking something. It just rather saddens me that I will not get to watch my child interact with her as my mom did with me. In that respect, I guess it is a good thing that I have several pictures of my Nana around the house. However, what I think I will miss the most, especially if this is a girl, is not having Nana around to make clothes! She use to sew pretty much anything I asked for – even my wedding dress.
For the Record…..
If you drop Mac ‘n’, Cheese noodles on the floor (and your feet) after draining them – they are still very hot! Moreover, even if you have socks on, they still kind of “burn” through the fabric! On the plus side – dogs will eat them up! (For some reason the “role-y pole-y fish heads, eat them up yum!” is running through my head)
In addition, on the baby front….
Only a week and a half more until that 20 week mark! I hope that on March 5th our OB/GYN will schedule another ultrasound at that point. IF not I will seriously (read as: more forcefully) look into getting an ultrasound at an imagining place here in town that told me to call them back when I am twenty-four weeks and they would schedule my appointment about a month out from there. So hopefully soon we will know boy/girl.
Recently I was also told that the Drano test is very accurate… and it was recommended. Anyone have any luck with this, as far as accuracy goes? If so, please feel free to drop me a line!
