Oddities

The Odd Things I've Noticed Since Motherhood
  • Smart alec onsies actually come true. That "Party in my crib at 2am" onsie you bought, or the "Sleep is for the weak" onsie (you got in duplicate @ your shower) actually do come true. Usually the night following the day the baby wore it.
  • One good night will not lead to another.
  • Body hair that grew at a fairly fast rate pre-pregnancy suddenly learned how to grow back at a supersonic speed during pregnancy and is currently no where to be found (THANKFULLY!) while breast feeding.... (how long will this last?!)
  • Showers. A rare commodity these days, especially if you don't want to spend it listening to crying/screaming coming from the bedroom.
  • The baby can (and will) sleep through a visit from a friend w/ kids (who make alot of noise) but will wake up when you drop something on the kitchen floor that makes little noise)
  • If you thought you where good at multi-tasking before, it's a whole new ball game now
  • Schedule, schmedule. Once you think your on one, it changes. Like 180 degree change.
  • Thinking that they will be small for a while is soooo wrong. Jr is 6 weeks old now, and already "talking" aka babbling to himself.
  • Babbling is cute, the cooing and noises ect, however it doesn't take much (or long) for it to turn into a full on scream.
  • No matter how big (or small) your baby was when it was born - it's either tiny or HUGE to people now.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.... however just during this post, it's taken me 2 hours to compose due to a baby who is under the impression that the ONLY seat in the house he should occupy is in my lap & arms. Despite the fact that Mom needs to get stuff done!
