My Little Guard Dog

It's funny. Everytime I have any kind of restrictions Sox seems to be sleeping with one eye closed and one eye on me.

At the beginning of this pregnancy when I was told if laying down slowed or stopped the spotting I was having to do it, Sox camped on the couch with me. Never going very far, and if I got up to go to the restroom he was right outside the door. If I went in the kitchen he was RIGHT THERE. Once we got back from our Christmas leave back home and the spotting stopped, his guard seemed to loosen quite a bit. Now don't get me wrong, normally when Chris isn't home both the boys follow me around pretty closely. They always have.

Now that I'm back to similar restrictions that I was at the beginning of this journey, Sox is back to being the ever present presence. I am supposed to stay downstairs the majority of the day - limiting my trips up the stairs, and I had left some information on a project I am working on for my mother in law (Grandma Jane) on my night stand so I needed to go get it. Normally the boys are required to go up the stairs before I will go up them (I've been knocked down too many times) or go down before me (same reason). Sox would only go one or two steps ahead of me both directions on this trip.

When I miscarried back in 2004 and was on strict bedrest for a week, he was right there with me. Most of the time he had his head on my stomach and a very sad face. I have a feeling he will be the one who will get "nervous" when Junior cries. As it is, when Jess & Ronnie are here with their boys, Sox is very attentive to both boys - Trace because he's old enough to "play" (meaning he can throw the ball) and Colten he loves to give kisses to, and usually doesn't let crawl very far with out following him.
